getting to Tanzania:
British Airways - direct London
Emirates - hub Dubai
Qatar Airways - hub Doha
KLM - hub Amsterdam
Kenya Airways - hub Nairobi
all fly to Dar es Salaam but it is possible to use other routes.
visas:
For most nationalities it is possible to get your visa on arrival. However, you should check with the Tanzanian High Commission in your home country before you travel.
If possible, we recommend getting your visa in advance as this will save you time at the airport on arrival.

staying in Dar es Salaam:
Dar es Salaam offers a good range of hotels catering for all budgets:
Top range: Golden Tulip,
Sea Cliff,
Movenpick and
Kempinski
Mid range: Q Bar
Budget: Jambo Inn and Safari Inn
getting to Mtwara:
Mtwara is a one hour flight from Dar es Salaam with daily flights operated by Precision Air and Fly540
Note that flight times can be subject to change so allow plenty of time for transfers.
Private air charters are available through Coastal Aviation, ZanAir and Tanzanair.

money:
Travellers' cheques are difficult to cash in Tanzania, so we suggest you bring US$ in $100 or $50 bills; many businesses accept $ payments.
It is possible to get cash from ATMs using debit/credit cards (visa is best), but this is easier in Dar es Salaam than Mtwara.
NOTE: We do NOT accept credit cards, but we do accept US$.
health:
We recommend that you take malaria medication during your stay, but suggest you do NOT take Larium if you wish to dive.
